I have chosen to depart

I have chosen to depart from the controlled and predetermined nature of traditional photography.

In my series Dyrehaven, I employ a self-developed technique that transfers texture onto the image

— a form of embossing that enhances both dimensionality and luminosity.

This new approach results in a distinctive photographic expression, evident throughout the Dyrehaven series.

By drawing directly into the motif, I create a painterly and almost dreamlike atmosphere, rich in depth and vibrant colour rendition.

As the viewer gradually recognizes that these works depict real, existing locations, the images acquire an additional layer of meaning and a character entirely their own.

The technique has evolved through extensive research into landscape painting traditions.

With Dyrehaven, my fusion of the contemporary and the classical creates a compelling visual aesthetic.

Combined with a meticulous attention to technical detail, the result is a body of work with which I am deeply satisfied.

As the title suggests, the series portrays the changing seasons within the forest: spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

It is nature’s own narrative — a visual meditation on the cycle of the four seasons.
